My story
Rachael Jewell is an Ottawa based singer/songwriter and sound healer, known for her clear, expressive tone, and vocal versatility. She received both her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Ottawa. Rachael holds a Sound Healing Certification from White Raven Sound Healing and Reiki 2 Certification with Crystal McLeod of Mystic and Whimsy .
Following her Graduate degree, Rachael studied with D.M.A Michael Warren, one of New York City’s top vocal teachers with students who perform on Broadway, in major world-renowned opera houses, and University Professors in Universities/Colleges across the U.S. and Canada. Her vocal versatility has given her the opportunity to perform in multiple genres, including Opera, Musical Theatre, Pop, Jazz and Rock. She is currently the lead vocalist for Sussex, an Ottawa based Classic Rock band, opening for bands such as Big Sugar, and Dwayne Gretzky. Check out their show schedule here.

Regarded as a highly engaging and theatrical performer, Rachael has performed lead operatic roles’s including, Adele (Die Fledermaus), Despina (Cosi fan Tutte), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), the First Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Mrs. Gobineau (The Medium), Musetta (La Boheme), and Clotilde (Norma). Most recently, she sang the role of Juliette in Pellegrini Opera’s production of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. She also premiered the role of Ellen in Kevin Reeves’ comic opera, Nosfertatu where she stood out for her “acting skills, comedic timing and clear, characterful singing.” – Artsfile. She has also appeared as a guest soloist with NACO at the National Art Centre’s Hockey Sweater event co-hosted by Hockey Legend Ken Dryden and Maestro Alain Trudel, and as a guest soloist with The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra.

As a songwriter, her music and lyrics are inspired by life experiences, and influenced by the combination of her classical background and pop/contemporary music. She recently released her first original contemporary single “Dream,” produced by Albert Chambers of Studio Base Bin in Montreal, Quebec. It is available on all streaming platforms.

Rachael also offers one on one and group Sound Healing Sessions at her home in Barrhaven. Her sessions have been described as deeply relaxing and etheric, taking listeners on a healing journey transcending time and space. learn more
